Literacy Connections with the Book Nook Chalkboard!

Literacy Connections are wonderful and exciting to witness first-hand! Remember the Book Nook Chalkboard we created? Today, father and daughter spent some time together working on the chalkboard, drawing images. In the photo below, my daughter is showing me that she colored in a Dog that Daddy drew (which she named Clifford the Big Red Dog), a Pig from a pig story and a Pony from a pony story. She connected each image to books she has read - without our prompting

Literacy - Why you should “Read it again”

Educators—teachers and librarians—skillfully stretch and expand what they read to children because books open almost unlimited topics for learning.

As the parent of a preschool child, you don’t need to push your child into academics early but you can enjoy letting a book lead you to new places with your child.
