I'm likely the last person in the early childhood world to do this, I know. Until last week, I had never colored noodles before! The Preschool teacher asked for colored noodle donations and gave us instructions for the process. I'm always up for learning something new.

Today, I saw a Twitter pal (Faigie) tweet a blog post titled To Craft or Not To Craft...IS that the question?
It reminded me of two recent posts here: Paper Box Candy Man and We have our own river!
I used to be a "No" mom, also: "No, not right now. That's too messy. I really don't want to have to clean that up, okay?" Or, "No, that isn't safe. You can't do it." Even after working as a nanny for more than 16 years, and as a teacher aide in a Preschool filled with paint, glitter, glue, play-doh, googly eyes and pipe cleaners - it took me a while to figure out that my own kids, in the safety of their home, need to make messes, explore, dig into their imaginations and create things...

Recently, I received a book to review titled "the House that wanted a Family," written and illustrated by Susan Spence Daniel. Susan is a Wisconsin resident and a mother of one daughter. She has written numerous children's books, however, this is her first published story.
