Pizza Party Idea
In our classroom at school, the lead teacher has a metal tray attached to the wall. When the kids earn a slice of pizza (by working as a team to display positive behaviors), a laminated paper slice is added (using velcro) to the circle. When the pizza is complete, the class earns a pizza party.

We didn't have enough items to place outside, to sell, so they asked me, "Can we please have a yard sale inside for the kids across the street?" I agreed. They set out to gather up toys and clothing they were willing to part with.

After reading a teacher's resignation letter at the Washington Post I got to thinking. Most schools have now ceased to provide children an opportunity to learn through experimentation. There's no time for that. Teachers are bound to an agreement that they must teach to the test.
