Ten indoor ideas for rainy days

Are you looking for a few indoor rainy day ideas? Here you go!

Play_DohHere are five ideas for a rainy day, submitted by Susan, owner of Splendipity:

1. Finger paint in the bathtub with your FEET!

2. Draw with shaving cream on your shower doors (if you don't have shower doors, use shaving cream to create art on dark colored paper).

3. Use Contractors paper to create LIFESIZE drawings (using cardboard from a package also works).

4. Food artwork: use uncooked noodles, cereals or sprinkles. Create a picture or pattern.

5. Scavenger hunt for hidden treasure-must hide your treasure then help kids draw a map so they can hunt for it.

Here are five more ideas, submitted by Shara, owner of Mommy Perks:

1. Here's a funny idea... allow your kiddo to get a little bored!

2. Create stained glass windows or doors

3. Make play-doh together. Use kitchen utensils as tools, if you don't have play-doh toys. My kids love to use spoons, rolling pins, cookie cutters, soup ladles and plastic kitchen gadgets.

4. Make salt dough shapes. This particular post was written with Easter in mind but you can create shapes for any occasion: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, a birthday party, as gift toppers and more! If you make them as gift toppers, consider adding a photo to one side (of your child or pet, etc). The gift recipient can keep the topper to use as an ornament.

5. Purchase some water beads for indoor smooshy fun.

Rain, rain, you can stay. We're having fun the indoor way!

Here is an idea for those times you are out together with no supplies of your own.

Three directions - Take turns giving each other three directions to follow. You can make up all kinds of fun ones like:

* Pat your head, clap your hands, and then touch the window.

* Jump three times, point to a chair, and then hug me.

* Sit down, get up, and then sit down again.

The challenge is to have the other person follow all the directions after hearing all three. As you might have guessed, this game is not only really fun but also helps to build memory skills.
